Name of the Virgin Mary Church

Bőny’s Catholic church built by Lajos Schlichter, who also constructed the Győr Town Hall, was founded and consecrated by Bishop János Zalka on 14 August 1887, together with the new school and a cross.
The Győr painter János Mandausz “academic painter and photographer” created the church’s altarpiece, which depicts Mary and the baby Jesus, who is holding a small cross in his hand. The painting was also done in 1887.
